NeuroLeadership Institute conducted structured interviews with 20 HR and talent leaders, as well as a survey of 568 business and HR leaders across various organisations and industries to find that most leadership models tend to be long, convoluted, and difficult to remember, often consisting of dozens of complex and contradictory behaviours. Since they are not clear or memorable, they fail to successfully guide behaviour in critical leadership situations.
NLI Research shows that only 38% of individuals take action on their models once or twice a week. 44% of companies have models with more than 20 behaviours! This may explain why only 17% of leaders find their models easy to remember and only 27% of individuals consider their leadership model meaningful!
